Women's Hoops Falls to UMass on the Road, 74-48

AMHERST, Mass. — Junior Jada Lucas tallied a team-high 15 points as the Hartford women's basketball team fell to UMass, 74-48, on Sunday afternoon in its first road contest of the season. With the loss, the Hawks fell to 0-4 on the year, while the Minutewomen improved to 2-2.

UMass opened the contest with a 20-2 run in the first 6:08 of the contest, never relinquishing the lead. UMass extended its lead to 28-8 by the end of the first quarter and pushed it to as much as 44-17 by halftime.
 
The Minutewomen's largest lead reached 37 points when they held a 74-37 lead over the Hawks with 6:26 remaining in regulation. However, Hartford closed the game with an 11-0 run, holding UMass scoreless for the final 6:24 of the game for the 74-48 final.
