WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — Senior
Lawrencia Moten scored career-high 10 points and added a game-high three blocks, as the Hartford women's basketball team fell to William & Mary on the road at Kaplan Arena, 61-44, on Friday evening. With the loss, the Hawks fell to 0-7 on the year, while the Tribe improved to 5-1.

The Tribe used the opening five minutes of the contest to go on an 11-2 run, however, the Hawks cut the deficit to 15-9 after outscoring the Tribe 7-4 to close the first quarter. William & Mary countered with a 10-3 run to open up a 25-12 lead, its largest margin of the half. However, the Hawks used the final 2:42 of the half to hold the Tribe scoreless, cutting the deficit to 27-18 at the break.
Trailing 29-18, the Hawks used a 9-3 run to cut the Tribe's lead to 32-27 with 6:16 left in the third quarter. William & Mary responded by closing the quarter with a 13-4 run of its own, taking a 45-31 lead into the fourth. The Tribe's lead reach as high as 19 points, proving to be too much for the Hawks as they ultimately fell 61-44.

- Jordan McLemore scored a game-high 12 points and Jada Lucas added 10 points
- It was the first time all season the Hawks had more than two players reach double-figure scoring

- William & Mary had three different players score 10 points apiece
