Carmen Villalobos posted 13 points and 10 rebounds for her first career double-double, as the Hartford women's basketball team fell to Penn on the road The Palestra, 74-46, on Monday evening. With the loss, the Hawks fell to 0-8 on the year, while the Quakers improved to 5-1.
PENN 74, HARTFORD 46
The Quakers used the opening six minutes of the contest to go on a 21-3 run and carried a 21-5 lead into the second quarter. After the Quakers pushed its lead to 25-5, the Hawks responded with a 13-2 run to cut the deficit to 27-18 with 4:57 left in the first half. The Hawks went into the half trailing 32-18, with Carmen Villalobos' nine points leading the way.
After pushing its lead to as much as 32 points in the third quarter, Penn took a 56-24 lead into the fourth quarter. The deficit proved to be too much for the Hawks, as they fell 74-46.
