Women's Basketball's Late Rally Falls Short in 60-47 Loss at Northeastern

BOSTON, Mass. — A late 18-2 run in the fourth quarter was not enough for the Hawks, as the Hartford women's basketball team fell to Northeastern on the road, 60-47, at the Cabot Center on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Hawks fell to 0-11 on the year, while the Huskies improved to 3-6.

NORTHEASTERN 60, HARTFORD 47
The Huskies used the opening 5:10 of the contest to jump out to an early 11-3 lead, before the Hawks closed the first quarter with a 9-4 run to cut the deficit to 15-12 heading into the second quarter. Northeastern responded by opening the quarter with a 9-0 run to extend its lead to 24-12 before a Kaela Dothard bucket stopped the run. The Huskies held the Hawks to seven points in the quarter, taking a 31-19 lead into the half.

After Hartford cut the deficit to 39-25 with 6:11 remaining in the third quarter, Northeastern closed the quarter with a 12-4 run to take a 24-point lead into the fourth quarter. The Hawks used an 18-2 run in the fourth quarter to cut the deficit to as close as 57-47 with 30 seconds to go in regulation, but it was not enough as Northeastern held on for the 60-47 win over Hartford.
