HANOVER, N.H. – Sophomore
Tyler Corpora scored with 23 seconds remaining to cap off a wild back-and-forth game and propel Hartford men's lacrosse to a 12-11 win at Dartmouth on a snowy Tuesday afternoon. Senior
Dylan Jinks tallied six points on four goals and a pair of assists to pace the Hawks, who improve to 3-9 with the non-conference victory.
Matching Jinks' game-best six points, Ben Martin led all scorers with five goals for Dartmouth, which falls to 2-8 on the season.
HARTFORD 12, DARTMOUTH 11
In a contest that featured 11 ties and seven lead changes, just one goal separated Hartford and Dartmouth from start to finish. Highlighting the first half, which ended in a 5-5 deadlock after an unassisted Jinks score inside the final minute, was senior
Cam Garinger, who netted the first two goals of his career during that stretch.
The back-and-forth action continued into the second half, as Hartford had a 12-11 lead with less than three minutes left. But the Big Green scored twice within a 32 second stretch to claim an 11-10 edge on an EMO goal with just 1:49 left.
The lead did not last long, though. Winning the ensuing faceoff on a violation, senior
Alex Borja recovered the ball after a turnover, which led to junior transfer
Ty Thompson finding the back of the net for the game's 11th tie with 67 seconds left. Senior
Nolan Little won the next battle at the X, and with 23 seconds left on the clock, Corpora found the back of the net for the fifth time this season to put the Hawks in front for good.
