Men's Soccer Extends Winning Streak After Taking Down St. Bonaventure

OLEAN, N.Y. — The Hawks extended their winning streak to three games as they knocked off the Bonnies of St. Bonaventure, 1-0, on Sunday.  Sophomore Tomer Drimmer scored the game's lone goal in the 11th minute as the Hawks recorded their second straight shutout. Hartford improves to 3-2 on the year with the victory while St. Bonaventure drops to 1-3.

ST. BONAVENTURE 0, HARTFORD 1
The Hawks started the game off strong needing only 11 minutes to take the lead as Tomer Drimmer rocketed a shot from distance into the bottom right corner to give the Hawks the early lead. The goal would be the first of his career. Hartford would continue to pile on the pressure, launching shot after shot but were unable to extend the lead. St. Bonaventure would then take control of the action, rattling off a series of shots in the 30th minute. Senior goalkeeper Jimmy Slayton would make four saves as he denied any scoring hopes for the Bonnies in the first 45 minutes of play. The Bonnies out shot the Hawks, 7-3, in the first half.

The second half was more of a midfield battle as neither team could muster a chance. Jovante Etienne had the best chance to double the lead as his 52nd minute strike would rattle off the post and out of play. The Hartford defense would be dominate, limiting St. Bonaventure to only one shot until the final seconds of play. The Bonnies last minute strike was blocked by a host of Hartford defenders as the Hawks were able to hold on for the 1-0 win.
