WORCESTER, Mass. — The Hartford volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision against Holly Cross on Tuesday night. The Hawks dropped to 5-5 while the Crusaders improved to 2-9 with the victory.
 
Jenna Bridges led the way for the Hawks with 11 kills on the night while 
Megan Anderson finished with 25 assists. 
Alex Lucero tallied 12 digs to lead the Hawks defensively.
 
HARTFORD, HOLY CROSS (25-21, 25-22, 25-16)
	- SET ONE: Trailing early in the set, Hartford stormed back to take an 14-12 lead, but the Crusaders racked up a series of service aces to win the set. The Hawks pulled within two after trailing, 23-21, but a pair of kills would give Holy Cross the set point.
- SET TWO: Holy Cross would jump out to another early lead, going ahead 5-1 to start the second set. The Hawks would claw their way back and eventually tie the set at 12 a piece after going on a 7-1 run. Hartford would then jump out to a four-point lead, holding a 20-16 advantage over Holy Cross. The Crusaders would finish off the set on a 9-2 run to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
	- SET THREE: The final set started off as a back and forth affair with the two teams tied at 6-6. The Crusaders would then take advantage of a combination of timely kills and attacking errors to hold a six-point lead. The Hawks would close the deficit down to one, but the Crusaders ended the final set on a 8-0 run to win the match.
- HARTFORD NOTES & HIGHLIGHTS: Bridges lead the way with 11 kills while Brittany Braun tailed six kills on the night … Freshman Greta De Gaspar and Robin Helms and junior Megan Anderson each tallied two blocks
NEXT ON TAP
The Hawks are set to host the Hartford Hawks Invitational this weekend with a pair of games on Friday. Hartford first takes on Lafayette at 2 p.m. before taking on Maryland Eastern Shore at 7 p.m.
