STONY BROOK, N.Y. — The Hawks fourth-quarter comeback attempt fell short, as the Hartford women's basketball team fell to America East foe Stony Brook on the road, 66-55, at Island Federal Arena on Wednesday evening. With the loss, the Hawks fell to 0-17 on the year and 0-4 in the America East, while the Seawolves improved to 17-1 on the season and 5-0 in conference play.
STONY BROOK 66, HARTFORD 55
The Seawolves forced the Hawks to shoot 20% from the field in the first quarter, taking a 15-8 lead over Hartford into the second quarter. After the Hawks cut the deficit to 15-12 to open the second quarter, the Seawolves countered with a 14-2 run to take a 29-14 lead with 4:56 to go before the break. Hartford was able to use the final 4:15 of the quarter to outscore Stony Brook 8-4 to cut the deficit to 33-22 at the break.
Stony Brook used the opening 3:08 of the second half to go on a 9-0 run to open up a 20-point lead and took a 53-33 lead into the fourth quarter. Trailing 61-41, the Hawks used the final 6:22 of the contest to go on a 14-5 run, however it wasn't enough as they ultimately fell 66-55.

- Three different Hawks reached double-figure scoring, with Jada Lucas leading the way with 12 points
- Carmen Villalobos contributed 11 points, six rebounds and two steals in the loss
- Sophomore Charlette Leurs added 10 points and five rebounds off the bench
- India Pagan led Stony Brook with a game-high 14 points
