WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — Jada Lucas scored a team-high 13 points, as the Hartford women's basketball team fell to America East foe Maine, 69-52, inside Reich Family Pavilion on Saturday afternoon in the Hawks' Breast Cancer Awareness Game. With the loss, the Hawks fell to 0-22 on the year and 0-9 in the America East, while the Black Bears improved to 9-14 on the season and 5-4 in conference play.

With the score tied at 8-8 with 3:07 left in the first quarter the Black Bears used the final three minutes of the period to outscore the Hawks, 9-4, taking a 17-12 into the second. Maine used the first 6:30 of the quarter to go on an 18-6 run, pushing its lead to 35-18. The Hawks closed the half with a 6-0 run to cut the deficit to 35-24 at the break.
Maine used the first 3:08 of the second half to go on a 13-4 run, pushing its lead to 20 points. Despite Hartford responding with a 9-4 run to cut the deficit to 15 points, Maine's Maddy McVicar drilled a three at the buzzer to give the Black Bears a 55-37 advantage heading into the fourth. with 5:52 left in the third quarter. The Hawks used the opening 3:15 of the fourth quarter to go on an 11-5 run, cutting the deficit to 64-48 with 4:35 left in regulation. However, the deficit proved to be too much for the Hawks, as they eventually fell, 69-52.
