Track and Field Breaks Eight School Records at the America East Championships

BOSTON  – Hartford indoor track and field rounded out its indoor campaign with a record shattering performance at the America East Championships. A total of eight school records were broken across the two days, with senior Terrel Davis breaking a meet record in the long jump event. Junior Elizabeth Lodge was named the Women's Most Outstanding Field Athlete after winning both the pentathlon and high jump

HARTFORD MEN HIGHLIGHTS 
  • The men's team combined to break five school records across the two days
  • Senior Terrel Davis led the way for the Hawks, earning the gold medal in the long jump, breaking a conference meet record with a leap of 7.67m
  • Davis also earned the bronze in the triple jump, breaking his own school record in the event with a mark of 15.23m
  • Rookie Ardonntrell Williams concluded his fantastic indoor season, breaking the school record in the 60m hurdles during the preliminary rounds with a time of 8.40 seconds
  • Williams would go on to finish sixth during the finals of the 60m hurdles
  • Freshman Benjamin Pinkowski broke the school record in the heptathlon after finishing fourth with 4415 points
  • Rookies Luke Ferhman and Anthony Clavette rounded out the points finishers for the Hawks after finishing 5th in the 500m and 7th in the high jump respectively
  • Dylan Murad also broke the school record he set earlier this season, setting a mark of 14.58m
  • The 4x800m team of Keith May, Matthew Konopinksi, Christian Deal, and Nicholas O'Brien broke the school record with a time of 7:48.67 to finish sixth in the event
     
HARTFORD WOMEN HIGHLIGHTS
  • On the women's side, the team finished with three school records being broken
  • Leading the way was junior Elizabeth Lodge, who was named the Women's Most Outstanding Field Performer
  • Lodge broke the school record in both the pentathlon (3479 points) and high jump (1.73m) en route to winning the gold medal in both events
  • Senior Olivia Rougeau completed the Hawks one-two finish in the high jump, earning the silver medal after clearing a height of 1.70m
  • Sophomore Haleemot Adeyanju completed her tremendous indoor campaign with a bronze medal in the women's 800m
  • Adeyanju's time of 2:13.08 broke the school record in the event
 

NEXT ON TAP
The Hawks kick off its 2020 outdoor season with a trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C, for the Myrtle Beach Classic. The two-day event is set to begin on Friday, March 13.
