WORCESTER, Mass. —Freshman
Tiana Vazquez netted her second hat trick in as many games as the Hartford women's lacrosse team dropped a 19-5 decision to Holy Cross this afternoon. Jolie Creo scored a game-high fiour goals for the Crusaders, who improve to 4-1.
Junior
Birdie Montes tallied two assists on the afternoon for the Hawks, who dip to 0-5 on the season.
HOLY CROSS 19, HARTFORD 5
Holy Cross would come out of the gates strong, going on a 12-0 scoring run to start the game.
Tiana Vazquez would get the Hawks on the board with 2:32 remaining in the first half before the Crusaders tacked on one more to head into the break leading, 13-1.
Emma Privitera made eight saves in the first half for Hartford.
The Crusaders would start the second half with back to back goals inside three minutes, but the Hawks would rattle off three unanswered goals of their own.
Jillian Westerby would get the first goal of the half for Hartford before Vazquez completed the hat trick by scoring twice, to record a hat trick for the second game in a row.
Megan Miller would later add a goal for the Hawks as Holy Cross held on for a 19-5 victory.
