BURLINGTON, Vt. — Jada Lucas scored a team-high 15 points, as the Hartford women's basketball team fell to America East foe Vermont on the road, 62-51, inside Patrick Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Hawks fell to 0-24 on the year and 0-11 in the America East, while the Catamounts improved to 11-13 on the season and 5-6 in conference play.
VERMONT 62, HARTFORD 51
The Catamounts used the opening 4:15 to open up a 10-2 lead over the Hawks and eventually carried a 19-9 lead into the second quarter. Hartford opened the period with an 8-0 run to cut the deficit to 19-17 with seven minutes to go before the half. After Vermont pushed its lead back up to 24-17, Hartford responded with four straight points to cut the deficit to three. However, the Catamounts outscored the Hawks, 5-2, to close the half with a 29-23 lead.
Despite holding Vermont to seven points in the third quarter, the Hawks were only able to cut the deficit to four, trailing 38-34 entering the fourth. The Catamounts used the opening 2:30 of the fourth quarter to go on a 6-0 run to take a 10-point lead, forcing a timeout from the Hawks. Out of the timeout, Hartford went on a 6-0 run of its own to cut the deficit back to four with 5:30 left in regulation. However, Vermont responded with a 14-4 run to extend its lead to 13, its largest of the game and eventually held on for the 62-51 win over the Hawks.

- Jordan McLemore tallied 13 points, five assists and four rebounds
- Sierra Smith added eight points and 10 rebounds off the bench
- Smith has recorded double-digit rebounds in back-to-back games after posting 11 rebounds against UMBC on Wednesday
- Charlette Leurs and Jada Lucas added 11 points apiece
- Josie Larkins led Vermont with a game-high 19 points
