DURHAM, N.H. — The Hartford men's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to No.14 New Hampshire on Friday afternoon in America East action. The Wildcats improve to 3-0-1 in the conference, while the Hawks fall to 2-1-0.
UNH 4, HARTFORD 0
New Hampshire would open up the game strong as they had numerous corner kick opportunities in the opening 15 minutes. However, Hartford would be stout defensively, limiting any chance for the Wildcats to open the scoring.
Pablo Basarte would have the best chance for the Hawks in the 24th minute, as his long-distance strike went just wide of the post. UNH would open the scoring with a penalty kick in 34th minute, before doubling their lead seven minutes later, entering the halftime break with a 2-0 advantage.
The Wildcats would continue their strong start to the game, netting two goals in the second half.
Rasmus Karlsson had the best opportunity to get the Hawks on the board as his shot in the 52nd minute was well saved by the UNH goalkeeper. The deficit would prove to be too much as the Hawks fell, 4-0.
