DURHAM, N.H. — The Hartford men's soccer team saw its 2021 season come to a close as they fell to top-seeded New Hampshire, 2-0, in the America East Semifinals. Hartford closes out its 2021 campaign with a 3-3-1 record while the Wildcats improve to 7-0-1.

The opening 45 minutes featured a back-and-forth game that saw both sides create early chances. The Hawks peppered shots on the New Hampshire goal, but could not find the back of the net early in the game.
Rotem Fadida would be called upon in the 34th minute, as he easily saved a shot directly at him to keep the game scoreless. Fadida would make another great save in the 42nd minute, however New Hampshire pounced on the rebound, scoring the game's first goal and taking a 1-0 advantage into halftime.
The Wildcats added onto their lead early in the second half, taking a 2-0 lead from a goal in the 46th minute. New Hampshire would continue to dominate the second half of the game, forcing Fadida into making a pair of brilliant saves. Fadida would make an outstanding save in the 59th minute, diving across the goal to stop a point black effort, before
Alec Boyd blocked the rebound to keep the Wildcats from adding onto their lead.
Sergi Martinez had the best chance for the Hawks in the second half, as his 79th minute strike went straight to the UNH goalkeeper. The Hawks comeback effort would ultimately fall short as the Wildcats won, 2-0.
