LUBBOCK, Texas — The Hartford women's soccer team battled Texas Tech, but came up short to the Red Raiders on Thursday night as it dropped a 1-0 decision at John Walker Soccer Stadium. With their first defeat of the season, the Hawks dip to 2-1 overall, while the Red Raiders remain unbeaten with a 2-0-1 mark.
TEXAS TECH 1, HARTFORD 0
Perez and the Hawks' back line held strong in the opening half, keeping Texas Tech scoreless through the break despite the Red Raiders holding a slight 5-2 edge in shots.
The Hawks held off the Red Raiders until the 65th minute, when Ashleigh Williams used a feed from Charlotte Teeter to break open the stalemate. Hartford had one chance to add the equalizer to the scoreboard in the 80th minute, but sophomore
Chloe Layne's shot was saved by Texas Tech keeper Madison White.
