BALTIMORE – The Hartford men's soccer team surrendered three goals in the first half minutes and UMBC rolled to a 3-0 victory at Retriever Soccer Park on Saturday. The Retrievers improved to 4-2-1 (1-0 America East) on the season, while the Hawks fell to 1-4-2 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Retrievers took advantage of a hot start, scoring all three goals in the game's opening 25 minutes. Sophomore Taylor Calheira didn't waste any time, scoring in the 8th minute off an assist Ryan Becher to put UMBC out in front, 1-0. Seven minutes later UMBC defender Julian Conze snuck behind the Hawks' back line in the 15th minute to make it 2-0, and junior Justin John-Langba redirected a touch by Calheira past Hartford goalkeeper
Rotem Fadida to conclude the scoring for UMBC's scoring in the 25
th minute.

Hartford's strongest scoring chance came in the 58th minute, when senior
Tomer Drimmer put a shot just out of reach of UMBC goalkeeper Jailon Gillespie, only to see it bounce off the crossbar. Gillespie and Fadida each finished with two saves in the game.
