DURHAM, N.H. — Freshman
Camryn Luginbuhl tallied a team-high 11 kills to lead the Hartford volleyball team, but it wasn't enough as the Hawks fell against New Hampshire in straight sets in the America East opener inside of Lundholm Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.
Hartford fell to 2-12 (0-1 America East) on the season, while the Wildcats improved to 8-6 (1-0 America East) on the 2021 campaign.
NEW HAMPSHIRE 3, HARTFORD 0 (25-16, 25-22, 25-20)
SET ONE: New Hampshire jumped out to an early 7-3 advantage to force a Hartford timeout. Out of the timeout, the Hawks outscored the Wildcats 8-5 to cut the deficit to one before New Hampshire responded with three straight points to take a 15-11 lead forcing a Hartford timeout. Hartford scored two straight out of the timeout to cut the deficit to 15-13, forcing New Hampshire to call timeout. The Wildcats went on a 6-1 run out of the timeout, eventually taking the set, 25-16.
SET TWO: The two sides traded points to a 7-7 tie in the set before New Hampshire went on a 4-1 run to force a Hartford timeout. Out of the timeout, the Wildcats pushed its lead to 20-12 before the Hawks responded with a 5-0 run of its own. However, the deficit proved to be too much for Hartford as New Hampshire took the set, 25-22.
SET THREE: The Wildcats jumped out to an early 7-2 advantage to force a Hartford timeout in the set. Out of the timeout, the Hawks responded with a 7-4 run to trim the deficit to 11-9 before the Wildcats pushed their lead back to 17-10. The deficit proved to be too much for the Hawks, falling in the set 25-20.

Morgan Galligan compiled a team-high 19 assists … Kate Bilyeu tallied a game-high 12 kills for the Wildcats.
