Streeter Scores Career-High 21 as Hawks Fall, 77-39, at Stony Brook

STONY BROOK, N.Y. —Graduate student Abby Streeter dropped a career-high 21 points as the Hartford women's basketball team fell in its conference opener, 77-39, to Stony Brook on Sunday afternoon. The Hawks dip to 0-12 overall and 0-1 in conference play while the Seawolves improve to 10-2 overall and 1-1 in the America East.

The first quarter started out as a defense battle, as the Hawks took a 3-2 lead after an Abby Streeter three, two minutes into the first. Stony Brook responded with an 8-0 run, but another a pair of triples from Streeter cut the Seawolves lead to 12-9 with 1:50 remaining. Stony Brook would end the quarter on a 5-0 run to take a 17-9 lead after the first. Stony Brook carried its momentum into the second quarter, outscoring the Hawks 18-4, to hold a 35-13 advantage at the half. Streeter paced the Hawks with 12 points in the first half.
 
Stony Brook would build upon its lead in the third quarter, taking a 53-27 lead into the fourth.  Streeter would net her seventh three at the 7:15 mark, scoring her 21st  point to set a new career-high, but the deficit proved too much as the Seawolves secured a 77-39 decision.
