WEST HARTFORD, CONN. – Hartford volleyball continues its four-match homestand when it hosts American International College 7 p.m. Saturday in the Hartford Volleyball Gym.
The Hawks are coming off a four-set victory Thursday against Eastern Connecticut. Freshman outside hitter
Isabella Labrada set four season highs during the match including: 17 points, 13 kills, six digs, and three aces.
Hartford is led by senior outside hitter
Greta De Gasper, who provides the team with a balance of offense and defense. De Gasper is not afraid to hit the floor as she leads the team with 169 digs. Offensively, De Gasper leads the team with 137 kills. The native of Colle Umberto, Italy matched her career high of 20 kills against Eastern Connecticut.
Plenty of assistance is provided to the outside hitters from freshman setter
Kylee Connally, who notched her 200
th assist of the season Thursday night. Not far behind her in the category is senior setter
Lika Nkenchor with 195 assists. Nkenchor leads the team with 12 service aces this season.
AIC (19-1) enters the Hartford Volleyball Gym with a 16-match win streak. The Yellow Jackets have won 15 straight sets, and recently exacted revenge against the only team whose defeated them.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. The match will be streamed live on Hartford Hawks All-Access. First Flight will start after the volleyball match so fans can stick around and root on the Hawks before moving over to Chase Arena for the festivities.
