SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Hartford volleyball fell in four sets (16-25, 27-25, 15-25, 19-25) to American International College Friday night at the Henry A. Butova Gymnasium.
Despite the loss, there were certainly some noteworthy performers. Junior outside hitter
Uzezi Ijoma led the team with 13 kills. She produced a .600 hitting percentage during the match. Additionally, the Westfield, N.J. native provided four digs, two assists and one service ace. As if that weren't enough, Ijoma also teamed up with senior middle blocker
Sara Gasparotto for a block.
Senior setter
Lika Nkenchor produced 16 of Hartford's 32 assists on the night. Nkenchor also provided four kills and four digs.
Senior outside hitter
Greta De Gasper notched nine kills. Freshman outside hitter Lindzi Thomas led the team with 14 digs. Gasparotto finished the night with three total blocks.
The Hawks will now return home where they will finish out the season with three more matches. The first of those three will come against the Bryant Bulldogs Wednesday night. First serve is set for 6 p.m. in the Hartford Volleyball Gym.
