WEST HARTFORD, CONN. – A three-match homestand to finish the season starts 6 p.m. Wednesday when Hartford volleyball hosts the Bryant Bulldogs inside the Hartford Volleyball Gym.
The Hawks are led by senior outside hitter
Greta De Gasper, who leads the team in several categories. The product of Colle Umberto, Italy enters the match compiling 212 digs, 170 kills and 15 service aces.
De Gasper has two teammates who set her up well to score points. Senior setter
Lika Nkenchor and freshman setter Kylee Connally have totaled 248 assists each. Nkenchor also has 103 digs to her name this season.
Senior middle blocker
Sara Gasparotto plays a major role defensively. Gasparotto leads the team with 47 blocks. Junior outside hitter
Uzezi Ijoma also provides strong defense with 30 blocks. Like De Gasper, Ijoma provides balance on both sides of the ball. The Ashland, Va. native is second on the team with 163 kills.
This will be the second time the Hawks play Bryant this season. Hartford dropped a three-set road match Sept. 20 as part of a 15-match road trip to start the season.
The match can be viewed on Hartford Hawks All-Access. First serve is set for 6 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m.
