Dunne, Kimbrough reach double figures in loss

Box Score SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. – The Hartford men's basketball team got off to a slow start en route to the 85-53 loss to San Francisco Thursday inside the War Memorial at The Sobrato Center.

The Dons scored the first 14 points with some blistering shooting, making five of their first seven shots – four of six from three-point range, in the first four minutes. The Hawks played the game relatively even for the remainder of the first half, only being outscored by four points.

Hartford opened the second half by scoring the first five points to pull to within 13 points. However, San Francisco responded on a 10-0 run to get back to 23. The Hawks got as close as 18 in the second half.

Michael Dunne led the team with 15 points on 3-of-10 shooting, while Jared Kimbrough added 10 points and six rebounds.

  • Dunne has reached double figures for the sixth time this season, finishing one of his season-high.
  • Kimbrough scored in double digits for the seventh time this season and the second straight contest.
  • Hartford shot a season-high 94.4 percent (16-of-17) from the free-throw line, including Dunne – who was a season-high 6-of-6. It's the second time this season Hartford has made at least 90 percent from the line.
