FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Hartford softball team dropped its single game midweek contest this afternoon against Fairfield. The Hawks fell to the Stags by a final score of, 9-0, after five innings. Hartford drops to 13-22 overall while Fairfield jumps to 14-19 on the season.

Haley Cassidy and
Jordan Nastos gave Hartford an excellent scoring opportunity early. Cassidy lined a lead-off single through the left side of the infield before Nastos followed by lacing a double into right. However, the Stags would hold the Hawks off the board in the opening frame. After a scoreless first, Fairfield jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the second, before tacking on six more runs in the bottom half of the fourth. Fairfield's lead grew to be too much for Hartford to overcome, as the Hawks fell, 9-0.
