HARTFORD, Conn. – Kevin Koziol and Tremayne Cobb Jr. paced the Hartford baseball team's offense with three RBI each to lead the Hawks past Merrimack, 8-5, in their non-conference finale this afternoon. With the result, the Hawks move to 10-35 overall while the Warriors drop to 17-28-1.

HARTFORD 8, MERRIMACK 5
The Hawks wasted little time to get on the board, scoring four runs in the opening inning. Donnie Cohoon led off with a single followed by a Derek Tenney walk to put two runners on base. Tremayne Cobb Jr. then stepped up, launching a three-run shot to left field, giving Hartford an early 3-0 lead. The Hawks would continue to pile onto its early lead as a Kevin Koziol single allowed Ben Maycock to score, extending the lead to 4-0. Merrimack would respond with a run in the top of the second, but Hartford fired back with two runs of their own in the third.

Daniel Burnett started the inning with a single to right before advancing to third after a Devin Kellogg single. Kellogg would move to second after a wild pitch allowing Koziol to hit another single to the outfield, plating both Burnett and Kellogg, increasing the Hawks' lead to 6-1. The Hawks wouldn't stop there, adding another run in the fifth after Maycock strolled across the plate following another Warrior's wild pitch. Hartford would add yet another run in the seventh as Logan Cole doubled down the left field line, plating Maycock and increasing the lead to 8-1.

Merrimack would not go away though, scoring four runs in the eighth to cut the gap to 8-5. However, James Judenis, who entered the game in the top of the ninth, shut the door in the final inning, not allowing Merrimack to get score anymore runs, picking up the save and giving the Hawks an 8-5 victory.
