WEST HARTFORD, CONN. – Hartford volleyball continues its 15-match road trip with a trip to Smithfield, R.I. where the Bryant Bulldogs await the Hawks for a 6 p.m. Tuesday matchup at the Chace Athletic Center.
Freshman setter Kylee Connally is developing into an assists machine. The Dallas, Texas native broke out in the second matchup against LIU Sept. 17 with a season-high 19 assists. During the second set alone, Connally notched 10 assists. She is currently second on the team with 112 assists. Connally is also tied for second on the team with six service aces.
Defensively, the Hawks (0-13) are led by junior outside hitter
Uzezi Ijoma and senior outside hitter
Sara Gasparotto. The duo has combined for 35 blocks this season. including nine solo rejections. Senior outside hitter
Greta De Gasper is also contributing big numbers to the defensive side. De Gasper is averaging over two digs per set and has racked up 94 digs total.
Bryant is off to a nice start on their season. At 9-6, they recently had a three-match win streak snapped at the hands of UConn. The Bulldogs boast a 4-1 home record, including sweeps of Harvard and Stonehill..
