Box Score CHESTNUT HILL, MASS. – The Hartford volleyball team battled hard, but came up short in three sets against Boston College Wednesday at Conte Forum.
NOTES & HIGHLIGHTS: Many freshman made strong contributions.

Fabienne Rutten provided eight digs each.
Kylee Connally set up teammates for seven assists, adding three digs herself.
Sydney Luchs provided three kills and took part in a block assist.
BOSTON COLLEGE 3, HARTFORD 0 (16-25, 16-25, 22-25)
SET ONE: After falling to an early deficit, Hartford fought back to be within three. Boston College would eventually pull away with a 9-2 run. Senior outside hitter

SET TWO: A 7-1 deficit was too much to overcome, but the Hawks started to find a groove. Again, Hartford came within three points before Boston College pulled away. Freshman setter

SET THREE: The Hawks held a 9-8 lead before Boston College took it away. Hartford tied it up again at 14, but could not overtake the Eagles once more. Senior setter Like Nkenchor provided five assists. De Gasper led the way with four kills.

The Hawks' road trip continues to Hanover, N.H. for the Dartmouth Invitational. Hartford will play Lehigh 10:30 a.m. Friday. Saturday will feature a doubleheader. First serve of game one will be 10:30 a.m. against Siena. The second match will be at 6 p.m. against host Dartmouth.
