PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Sophomore
Nayeli Dowding scored a game high 13 points as the Hartford women's basketball team fell, 76-30, at Penn Tuesday night. The Hawks drop to 0-16 on the year, while the Quakers improve to 11-5 on the season.
PENN 76, HARTFORD 30
After trading early baskets in the opening minutes of the first, Penn utilized a 21-0 run to open up a 23-2 advantage heading into the second quarter. The Quakers continued their momentum taking a commanding 46-14 lead into the half.
Coming out of the break, Hartford looked to get its offense going when freshman
Elena Houghton scored a quick three points in the opening 90 seconds of the second half. However, Penn would go on a 13-3 run to close out the third, heading into the final frame leading 62-20. The Quakers advantage grew to be too much for the Hawks to overcome, as Hartford eventually fell, 76-30.
