Dunne drills career-high six three-pointers, McClain drops 20

Box Score BALTIMORE, MDMichael Dunne connected on a career-high six three-pointers, but the University of Hartford men's basketball team fell to Maryland-Baltimore County 87-62 Monday at the Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena.

Dunne came out of the locker room on fire, hitting three of his five three-point attempts, the latter of which pulled the Hawks to within 11 with 11:23 remaining. It was the closet Hartford would be since the opening moments of the contest when it trailed 19-8. Dunne finished with 18 points on 6-of-13 shooting, including 6-of-11 from beyond the arc.

UMBC answered Hartford's early push with a 14-3 run to seize the moment and carried it through the rest of the game.

The game started blistering for the home team as the Retrievers made 11 of their first 13 shots to build the double-figure lead; an advantage that would grow to as much as 23.

Briggs McClain finished with a team-high 20 points, marking back-to-back 20-plus point performances. He has now scored at least 20 points six times this season.
