The University of Hartford women's soccer team completed its unbeaten run through the Commonwealth Coast Conference with the 3-0 victory over Western New England Tuesday at Al-Marzook Field in Alumni Stadium.
It was a meeting between two of the top three teams in the United Soccer Coaches Region II poll with Hartford coming in first in the latest rankings and Western New England being ranked third.
Graduate
Leah Barbieri opened the scoring in the 19th minute with her sixth goal of the season. The goal was assisted on by senior
Christina Stone, who established a new single-season assist mark.
Stone added her second assist of the game in the 39th minute as senior
Imani Jenkins pushed the lead to 2-0, which was the halftime lead. Jenkins added her second goal of the game, an unassisted marker in the 49th minute.
Sophomore
Sejal Johnson (11-1) recorded a pair of saves. The victory marked the fourth consecutive clean sheet, all against CCC opponents.
