Box Score SPRINGFIELD, MASS. – Freshman
Zahara Quraishi tallied a career-high 19 kills as the University of Hartford volleyball team came back from a 2-0 deficit to post the five-set (17-25, 22-25, 25-23, 25-21, 17-15) victory over Commonwealth Coast Conference foe Western New England Wednesday.
Quraishi completed her third double-double of the season with 16 digs. She also attempted a career-high 59 attempts.
The comeback began late in the third set on the heels of a 9-2 Golden Bears run that gave the host a three-point lead. However, the Hawks responded by scoring seven of the last nine points to secure the set – setting the stage.
Hartford had control of the entire fourth set, only trailing 4-3, and forced a fifth set. The Hawks staved off three match points and scored the final three points to post the victory.

- The win snapped a five-match losing streak for the Hawks.
- Sophomore Sydney Ball earned her second double-double of the season with 10 kills and 10 digs.
- The setter tandem of freshman Liahnna Orange and sophomore Kylee Connally combined for 30 assists, 17 for Orange and 13 for Connally. Orange has double-digit assists in six of seven matches, while Connally has achieved the feat in all seven matches.
- Orange tallied her third double-double of the season with the 17 assists and 11 digs.
- Freshman Jenna Murphy finished with a career-high four blocks to go along with six kills on nine attempts and one error for a robust hitting percentage of .556.
- Senior Kionah Thomas had a career-high 13 digs.
