Sophomore
Kylee Connally decided enough was enough.
Connally served the final seven points of the fifth set as the University of Hartford volleyball team came back for a thrilling five-set (22-25, 27-25, 20-25, 25-11, 15-12) victory over Commonwealth Coast Conference foe Roger Williams Saturday inside the Hartford Volleyball Gym.
The match was the final home contest for senior
Kionah Thomas and graduate student
Hannah Pena.
Roger Williams scored four of the first five points in the deciding set, leading to a quick Hartford timeout. The teams changed sides with RWU holding a three-point advantage, and that lead grew to five before Connally began to serve.
Freshman
Zahara Quraishi recorded kills in three of four points, and then a kill by sophomore
Isabella Labrada knotted the score at 12. Back-to-back service aces by Connally had Hartford on the verge of the victory. A kill by Labrada secured the victory.
Hartford reached the fifth set after a dominating effort in the fourth. Connally was in the middle of the action serving six straight points to push the Hartford lead to nine. It jumpstarted a run that saw the home team score 14 of the last 17 points.
