Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

More history for Men's Lacrosse

LYNCHBURG, Va. – For the first time in school history, the University of Hartford men's lacrosse team has recorded two shutouts in the season.

For the 2023 version of the Hawks, they wanted to make sure it had a little extra as the shutouts have come in back-to-back games as Hartford blanked Randolph, 12-0, Wednesday at WildCat Stadium.

Sophomore attack Griffin Weller got the scoring going less than five minutes into the game with an unassisted goal. It appeared as if that would be the only tally of the opening period, but sophomore midfielder Aidan Kemp found the back of the net with 12 seconds remaining.

The scoring came in buckets in the second period as freshman Caleb Zucker, freshman Mason Moy, Kemp, and freshman John Furino all scored within a four-minute stretch at the beginning of the period. Furino added a second goal with six minutes remaining as Hartford took the 7-0 lead into the break.

The Hawks continued to find the back of the net with three goals in the third period and two more in the fourth.

Furino finished the game with four goals on 12 shots, while Kemp added three goals on six shots. In addition to his first-period goal, Weller added a team-high two assists.
