Sczecienski extends hitting streak in loss

The University of Hartford softball team opened up a three-game series with Siena falling to the Saints, 8-0, in the team's home opener at the Hartford Softball Field.

Hartford managed three hits as senior Mara Sczecienski, sophomore Azya Walker, and freshman Carly Mayhood each had a single.

After two scoreless innings, Siena scored two runs in the third and fourth innings. The Saints added a single run in the fifth and three more in the sixth.

English, 2-4, allowed four runs, three earned, on six hits with three strikeouts.
