WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – A dominant performance by Stetson led the Hatters past the Hartford women's lacrosse team, 23-6, Sunday on Al-Marzook Field at Alumni Stadium.
Lenaijah Ferguson netted her fourth hat trick of the season, while
Courtney Ingham added a pair of goals for the Hawks, who fall to 6-2 on the season.
STETSON 23, HARTFORD 6
Stetson wasted little time getting the offense rolling, jumping out to an 8-0 lead with 2:20 remaining in the opening frame. Ferguson would then go on to score her first of three goals on the day at the 2:07 mark to put the Hawks on the board. However, the Hatters would outscore Hartford 7-3 over the remainder of the first half to take a commanding 15-4 lead into the break. The second half of action was all Stetson, as the Hatters used a 5-1 run in the third quarter to take a 20-5 lead into the fourth. Ferguson would cap off her hat trick at the 7:08 mark of the final quarter as the Hawks would eventually fall, 23-6.
