The University of Hartford softball team pounded out 15 hits as the Hawks scored in three of their four at-bats en route to the 14-1 victory over the University of Saint Joseph Thursday at the Hartford Softball Field.

Lauren Ackerman, and
Taylor Fitch – recorded two hits in the game.
Hartford opened the scoring with a run in the first and blew the game open with eight runs in the second inning. The Hawks capped the scoring with five runs in the fourth. In the eight-run second, Hartford recorded four extra-base hits – two doubles and two triples – and had a stretch of five consecutive hits. In all, the Hawks finished with a season-high six extra-base hits.
Mayhood wasn't just good at the plate, she earned her first career win – allowing one unearned run on four hits in five innings of work with a career-best six strikeouts.

- It was the first complete game for Mayhood, who allowed zero earned runs for the second time this season.
- Mara Sczecienski, who didn't start for the first time this season, extended her hitting streak to 11 games with a single in her only at-bat.
