Mara Sczecienski extended her hitting streak to 16 games as the University of Hartford softball team fell to Yale Wednesday, 11-1, in five innings.
After reaching via error in the first inning, the second baseman singled with two outs in the third inning for her streak extending knock.
Hartford took the lead in the top of the first inning as sophomore
Olivia Wolk hit a solo home run. The Hawks had a chance to put a bigger number on the board in the first as
Emily Coffey followed Wolk's bomb with a walk, then Sczecienski reached on an error and
Kelsey Galevich singled to load the bases. But a double play and strikeout ended the threat.
