Box Score It took a little while, but once the first goal found the net, it was a barrage of scoring as the University of Hartford women's soccer team started the 2023 season with a 9-0 win over the University of St. Joseph's Friday in non-conference action.
Hartford, ranked second nationally in the first Massey Rating of the season, has now claimed five straight season opening victories.
Senior
Imani Jenkins began where she left off last season with two goals and a pair of assists. Freshman
Kathleen Brush began her college career with a pair of goals and an assist.
The Hawks looked dangerous from the outset with 10 shots over the first 20 minutes. In the 21st minute, Jenkins found the back of the net off an assist from
Christina Stone. The captains would connect again on Hartford's third goal of the season.
Hartford finished with three goals in the first half, and added six more in the second half.
Sophomore
Sejal Johnson in her first career start, saved the only shot she faced in 67-plus minutes, and combined with sophomore
Mira Mahmoud for the clean sheet. Mahmoud also had a save in her appearance.

- All 23 players dressed for the contest secured minutes.
- Hartford outshot the Blue Jays, 32-2, including 17 shots on frame.
- The Hawks finished with nine corner kicks, and was flagged for offsides eight times.
- Freshman Mayson Massaro also tallied a pair of goals in her collegiate debut.
