Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Marchesani Continues Scoring Roll in Loss

The University of Hartford's women's basketball team lost their third consecutive conference game to Endicott, 64-56, Saturday inside the Chase Family Arena at the Reich Family Pavilion.

Endicott used a 26-7 over the third and fourth quarters to seize control of the game, transforming an 11-point deficit into a nine-point lead. Hartford managed just nine points in the fourth quarter, making 3-of-17 from the floor.

After a tightly contested first quarter, Hartford began the second quarter by scoring eight of the first nine points as part of a 14-3 spurt to open up its biggest lead of the game at 12 points. The Hawks' defense was stout in the first half, holding Endicott to just 23 points total.

Things changed in the second half as Hartford allowed 21 points in the third quarter and 20 points in the fourth quarter.

It was promising in the early moments of the quarter as a quick five points from freshman Madison Baird had the Hawks soaring with another 12-point advantage. But the aforementioned run pushed the Gulls to victory.

Freshman Ella Marchesani scored a team-high 13 points on just 4-of-7 shooting, while Baird added 12 points and five boards. Freshman Adrianna McCoy finished with 11 points on 5-of-20 shooting.

Freshman Kendall Rieman pulled down a team-high six rebounds in just 16 minutes of action, while freshmen Sidnee Bowden, Ava Nazsimento, and Taryn Blevins had five rebounds each.
