Hawks Men's Soccer Season Concludes in ECAC Quarterfinal Loss to McDaniel College

HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The University of Hartford men's soccer season concluded on Saturday falling to McDaniel College by a 2-0 final in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Quarterfinals. 

Rapid Recap:
  • Junior Drew Cardarelli (South Gyeongsang, Republic of Korea) had the first chance of the game in the 5th minute getting a shot off saved by Tate Roth. The Green Terror took the lead in the 16th minute on a goal by AJ Nordone on an assist by Chase Osborn. The lead doubled just 10 minutes later as McDaniel got a second score from Brandon Morse. Sophomore Austin Murawski (Rocky Hill, Conn.) tried to get the Hawks on the board in the 32nd minute, but Roth made the save as the Green Terror took the 2-0 advantage into the break. 
  • Graduate student Alex Quinones (Bedford, N.H.) had the first chance in the second half with a save by Roth. Nick Lewis almost made the score 3-0 in the 65th minute, but junior Ryan Lunn (Southington, Conn.) made the save. Junior Nick Castrovinci (Roxbury, N.J.) had a chance late in the contest but the Terror defended well to pull off the 2-0 shutout win. 
Inside the Numbers: 
  • Lunn made five stops for the Hawks in the loss. 
  • Murawski had two shots on target to lead Hartford offensively. 
  • McDaniel out shot Hartford by a 11-9 margin including a 7-4 on target differential.
