The University of Hartford's men's basketball team got off to a great start and made some big shots down the stretch to snap a seven-game losing streak with the 63-56 win over Commonwealth Coast Conference foe Curry Saturday in Chase Family Arena at Reich Family Pavilion.
Back-to-back three-pointers from freshmen
Kaosi Chijioke and
Henry Herman capped a 12-2 run to start the game.
Every time Curry seemingly pulled to within a couple of possessions, Hartford had an answer. The lead hovered around double figures for the entirety of the second half.
Herman led the team with 17 points with eight rebounds, while
Stephen Akwiwu tallied another double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Freshman
Jaylen Brown added 11 points.
