SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The University of Hartford's women's basketball team lost to Commonwealth Coast Conference opponent Western New England, 69-42, Wednesday at the Anthony S. Caprio Alumni Healthful Living Center.
Freshman
Ava Naszimento led the team as she recorded her third double-double of the season with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Freshmen
Adrianna McCoy and
Ella Marchesani scored 10 points each. Marchesani scored half her points from the charity stripe, going 5-for-5.
Western New England took control of the game by scoring the final six points of the first quarter and the first eight of the second for a 14-0 run to open a 17-point lead.
Hartford scored a game-high 15 points in the final quarter. The Hawks connected on three of their five three-pointers in the final period.
