MYRTLE BEACH, SC – The University of Hartford baseball team dropped a pair of games Tuesday during its Spring Break trip to the Ripken Experience.
GAME: OLIVET 9, HARTFORD 3
James Hinspeter and Payton West combined for four of the team's seven hits as the Hawks dropped an early morning affair, 9-3.
The Hawks fell behind 4-0 before getting their offense going, Freshman Jack Durland and Hinspeter got things going in the sixth inning with back-to-back one-out singles, and West loaded the bases with a walk. After a strikeout, Durland scampered home on a wild pitch for the Hawks' first run of the game.
Olivet added five runs over the seventh and eighth innings.
Freshman Joe Guglielmi opened the ninth with a walk and moved to third on a double by Alyis Godbee. A fielders choice by freshman Zaynn Godbee scored Gugliemi. Zaynn Godbee stole second, moved to third on a groundout and scored on a wild pitch.
GAME TWO: METHODIST 19, HARTFORD 6

INSIDE THE BOX & NOTES:
· Four Hartford pitchers toed the rubber for the Hawks as junior Teague Mulcahy, freshman Julian Rondon, and sophomore Josh Kaplan pitched in relief.
· It was the first career start for Smith and the first career appearance for Kaplan.
· Alyis Godbee recorded his first stolen base of the season, which was also the team's only stolen base.
· The lone RBI of the game was recorded by Alyis Godbee.
· Nine different freshmen saw the field today.
