Olmstead, Ricketson Lead WLAX to First Win

Freshmen Madison Olmstead and Talei Ricketson combined for eight goals and nine assists as the University of Hartford women's lacrosse team won its first game of the season, beating Husson, 17-7, Saturday on Al-Marzook Field at Alumni Stadium.
 
Olmstead scored five goals with four assists, both career highs, while Ricketson finished with three goals and five assists, career highs for her.
 
It didn't take long for the Hawks to get on the board as they scored less that two minutes into the game as Olmstead and Ricketson connected for the first of three times. Hartford score six of the seven first-period goals and was never challenged.
 
Hartford outscored the Eagles in every period in recording the victory. After only outscoring Husson by just a goal in the second period, the Hawks came out of the break, scoring the first three goals. They tallied five of the six third-period goals to put the game away.
 
Graduate goalie Hanna Ramsey finished with nine saves in recording the win.

  • It marked the first collegiate coaching victory for Elizabeth Morrison.
  • Hartford was only called for one yellow and one green card, season lows for the Hawks.
