Olmstead Sets School Records in Win

WENHAM, Mass. – Freshman Madison Olmstead established a pair of individual game records as the University of Hartford women's lacrosse program registered its third consecutive win via the 18-7 victory over Gordon College Monday at the Brigham Athletic Complex. 

Olmstead's seven goals in the first half was a record for most goals in a half. Five of her goals were scored from free-position attempts. She is now second on the season-season record board with 39 points and third on the single-season record board with 27 goals.

Hartford broke the game open with five of the first six goals in the first six minutes of the second period. Olmstead was responsible for four of the six goals, while sophomore Meghan Smith had the other goal. 

The Hawks outscored Gordon 5-1 in the third period and tallied two of three goals in the fourth period. 

INSIDE THE BOX & NOTES 
  • Six of Hartford's goals were scored in man-up opportunities. 
  • Hartford was 6-of-10 on free-position chances. 
  • Olmstead and Smith had six draw controls each as the Hawks earned the 18-11 edge. 
  • Graduate student Hannah Ramsey finished with 10 saves. 
  • Four different Hawks – sophomores Shelby Frashure, Samantha Ciaglo, and Smith, along with junior Madison Carangelo – all had two caused turnovers. 
  • Senior Lenaijah Ferguson finished with a team-high four ground balls.
