AMHERST, Mass. – The Hartford men's and women's track and field teams continued their 2024 outdoor campaign at the UMass Commonwealth Invite on Saturday. The Hawks saw 25 top-five finishes along with personal bests on the day.

HARTFORD MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS

Freshman Christopher Hergott led the Hawks on the men's side, taking home the gold in the long jump with a leap of 7.08m on his third attempt.

Senior Aaron McGirr concluded the Hawks in the long jump with a leap of 6.40m.

Senior William Frank took home the bronze in the discus throw with a personal best mark of 46.02m on his first attempt.

Senior Savion Cooper concluded the Hawks in the discus throw, finishing fourth with a season-best mark 43.17m.

Junior Conor Convery continues his momentum, finishing fourth in the hammer throw with a mark of 50.52m.

Senior Kyle Moser finished fourth in the shot put with a mark of 14.84m.

Senior Curtis Rocheleau concluded the Hawks in the shot put after finishing fifth with a season's best mark of 14.57m.

Junior Jovan Joseph opened his outdoor campaign in stellar fashion, taking home the bronze in the 400m dash while clocking a time of 51.04.

Junior Kaden Leonard rounded out the top-five finishers in the 400m dash, clocking a time of 51.10.

Leonard also competed in the 200m dash where he finished fifth, rounding the track in 22.60.

Freshman Thomas Yonkers took home the bronze in the pole vault with a clearance of 3.65m.

Yonkers also competed in the javelin throw where he finished 12th overall with a personal best mark of 36.27m.

Senior Noah Kell finished sixth in the 110m hurdles, clocking a time of 16.78.

The 4x100m Relay of Bryce Foster, Brandon Edmund, Kaden Leonard, and Christopher Hergott finished fifth with a combined time of 42.83.
HARTFORD WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS

Junior Kayla Pelletier led the Hawks on the women's side, taking home the gold in the javelin throw with a personal best mark of 41.70m on her fifth attempt in the finals.

Pelletier also competed in the pole vault where she tied for eighth with a personal best clearance of 2.85m.

Senior Robyn Krafft finished fourth in the discus with a mark of 40.10m.

Senior Molly McGrail took home the bronze in the 400m hurdles, clocking a time of 1:05.84.

Graduate Caroline Hadley finished fourth in the hammer throw with a mark of 42.58m.

Freshman Leslie Samuel finished fourth in the long jump with a leap of 5.33m.

Sophomore trio Madison DiPasquale, Yovanna Cruz, and Destinee Majett rounded out the top ten finishers in the shot put.

DiPasquale finished 7th with a mark of 11.23m while Cruz and Majett finished 8th and 10th overall with marks of 10.84m and 9.46m respectively.

DisPasquale also competed in the hammer throw where she finished seventh with a personal best mark of 40.28m.

Graduate Hailey Marcello finished fifth in the 1500m run, clocking a time of 4:49.40.

Junior Cali Leonard finished fifth in the 100m hurdles, clocking a time of 15.23.

Freshman Caroline Crocker rounded out the top ten finishers in the 100m hurdles after clocking a time of 15.39 to finish eighth.

Senior Emily Parchinski finished fifth in the 400m dash, registering a time of 1:01.29.

Junior Marlina Voker was the next Hawk to cross the line in the 400m dash, finishing sixth while clocking a time of 1:02.34.

The 4x100m relay of Jenascia Weir, Leslie Samuel, Emily Parchinski, and Marlina Voker took home the gold with a combined time of 48.48.
