BROOKVILLE, N The University of Hartford men's golf team, displaying their unwavering determination, competed in the LIU Sharks Invitational, which concluded on Tuesday. They finished in ninth place out of 12 teams, scoring 927 (+75) at Brookville Country Club.
INDIVIDUAL STATS | TEAM STATS
Senior Conor Bryne tied for 26th place with a score of 16-over 229. Bryne's performance included six total birdies, three of which were in the first round, which was his best round as he carded a score of 74.
Junior Bryce Zimmerman was second for Hartford, coming in 38th place, carding a 21-over 234. Zimmerman's low-scoring first round of 73, with two birdies, set the tone for his impressive performance. Senior Turner Wegner went 23-over 236 to tie for 40th place. Wegner recorded six total birdies, registering three of the six in the second round.
Junior Austin Gambel was fourth for the Hawks, tying for 42nd place. He recorded four birdies while going 24-over 237. Senior Mike Amari finished in the top five for Hartord, going 27-over 240 with five total birdies. Amari recorded four birdies in the fourth round with a score of 76, which was his best.
Seton Hall, Long Island, Siena, Bryant, FDU, Holy Cross, Adelphi, Manhattan College, Hofstra, and Merrimack were all part of the competing schools. Seton Hall took home the victory 25-over 877. They had one player place first, recording six-over 219, and two tie for fifth place, recording eight-over 221.

The men's golf team will compete in their last tournament of the 2024 spring season as they will travel to Portsmouth, RI., to play in the two-day Roger Williams Spring Invitational beginning Sunday.
