BRISTOL, RI – The University of Hartford softball team extended its winning streak to five games following a doubleheader sweep of Commonwealth Coast Conference foe Roger Williams Friday.
GAME ONE: HARTFORD 10, ROGER WILLIAMS 2
Hartford blew the game open with six runs in the seventh inning as five of the first six batters reached to chase the RWU pitcher, who was met with back-to-back singles and a double to cap the six-run frame.
Freshman
Sydney Matz and sophomore
Taylor Fitch recorded four of Hartford's nine hits as seven of the nine starters picked up knocks in the victory.
Sophomore
Carly Mayhood (5-1) allowed just one earned run, two total, in six innings on five hits with five strikeouts.
INSIDE BOX & NOTES
- Junior Azya Walker had a career-high three stolen bases in the opener as Hartford swiped a season-high five stolen bases.
- First multi-RBI game of the season for Walker.
- Roger Williams' hitters after the third batter were 1-for-14 on the game.
- Hartford pitching held RWU to 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position.
GAME TWO: HARTFORD 12, ROGER WILLIAMS 3 (5 INN.)
Hartford scored in all five innings, including five in the third inning, en route to the run-ruled, five-inning victory in the nightcap. The Hawks pounded out 13 hits with four different players with multi-hit games.
Freshman
Adelie Beebe had a career-high three hits and scored a career-high three runs. She added a double, her first career home run, and three RBI.
Graduate
Mara Sczecienski got the Hawks on the board early as Beebe drew a two-out walk ahead of Sczecienski's homer. Sophomore
Gia Miccio and sophomore
Anita Farkash had two RBI apiece, Matz crossed the plate three times in the game.
Freshman
Gracie Hopkins (2-1) allowed three earned runs on seven hits over four innings with two strikeouts.

- Hartford has stolen a base in eight consecutive games after going 2-for-2 in the nightcap. The Hawks have stolen 14 straight bases without getting caught.
