Biography

AT HARTFORD:
2025: Matz started in 26 games, she made 31 appearances, in 61 at bats she slashed .230/.328/.333 (AVG/SLG/OBP) with nine RBIs, one triple, four doubles, and 13 stolen bases. On defense Sydney recorded 15 putouts and a fielding percentage of .867. Matz had her best game on March 9th at Springfield going 3-for-4 with a double, RBI and two runs scored.

2024: Matz started in 24 games for the Hawks a season ago, and made appearances in 29. In 63 at bats Sydney finished with a .286/.366/.413 (AVG/OBP/SLG) as well as knocking in 12 RBIs, on 18 hits, and five stolen bases.

PRIOR TO HARTFORD: Graduated Ellington High School where Matz was a All-NCCC selection and the Defensive Player of the Year.
