HARTFORD, Conn. – The University of Hartford softball team struggled to generate offense against Trinity College, falling 5-0 Wednesday night at the Trinity Softball field.
HOW IT HAPPENED
· The Bantam's started scoring their first run in the third inning. Then they recorded four more runs, two in the fourth and sixth innings.
· Hartford rotated three pitchers throughout the game. Sophomore Carly Mayhood (11-3) started and pitched three innings, facing 13 batters, allowing one hit, one run, and recording three strikeouts.
· Freshman Alex Hassett pitched two innings, facing ten batters, allowing two hits and two runs while tallying three strikeouts.
· Freshman Alexis Sealey pitched one inning, allowing two hits and two runs while facing six batters.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Despite the loss, the Hartford team showed their mettle with eight hits, distributed among six different players.
- Junior Olivia Wolk and Freshman Bridget Bernard stood out with their consistent performance, both managing two hits each.
