WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - On Tuesday, Director of Athletics Alicia Queally announced that Michael Waszeciak will be the next Assistant Athletic Director for Strategic Communications.
"I'm excited to announce the hiring of Michael Waszeciak to the administrative team here at Hartford", said Queally. "He understands the ever-evolving role of athletic communications and brings with him unique ways to continue to grow our digital footprint while highlighting our sport programs and overall student-athlete experiences."
Waszeciak joins Hartford after serving as the Director of Athletic Communications at Colby-Sawyer College for the past three years, where he oversaw all 23 of the Chargers varsity athletic programs. At Colby-Sawyer, Waszeciak innovated the student-athlete coverage for the athletic programs adding multi-camera broadcasted productions while also helping launch "Charged Up" the official podcast of the Colby-Sawyer Chargers and the "Chargies" year-end award show. Michael grew the social media presence for the Chargers adding high-quality graphics and unique video ideas while continuing to create the standard game recaps, previews and stories.

Prior to being at Colby-Sawyer, Waszeciak was the Sports Information Director at NHTI - Concord's Community College for two years. At NHTI, he served as the primary sports information contact for 12 sports. He grew the Lynx social media presence on Instagram and YouTube and increased engagement on Facebook. Waszeciak maintained the athletics website with schedules, recaps, and department news while recording statistics at all home contests.
Waszeciak, graduated with a bachelor's of science in sport management from Southern New Hampshire University in 2019.
